To make a field on a template required, go to Settings and then Matter Types (Templates) & Matter Setup under the Matters Setup section. After clicking on the template requiring modification, make sure the Use checkbox is checked next to the field in question under the Field Options heading. Change the selection in the 'Required Of' column to either 'Co. Only' or 'Lead Entity (Firm or Co.)' depending on who should complete the field. The fields can become required immediately or after a certian number of days after the matter creation if you enter the number of days in the 'Required After" column. To save the changes, click Save & Close.
